BOLA LINGESWARA SWAMY TEMPLE, PIDUGURALLA

The Bola LINGESWARA SWAMY temple has a history.  The Shiva linga here is majestic and has been found in the field in the same area for over 100 years.  The present temple is initiated by Sri Kesava Theerda swamy and was constructed around 1952 as a small temple.  Later on, it has been developed into a temple complex with eight other smaller size temples around the main temple.  The Shivalingam probably will be 1000 years old around the period of Palanadu Velama Naidu  dynasty and the Bhrama Naidu period ie. around 1150AD.
The temple complex is located adjacent to the limestone burning bahatties  that make lime in the country.  The limestone firing bhatties are just adjacent to the compound wall of the temple complex merely 200 meters away.
